Kauai Honeymoon Part 1

I am thrilled to be able to share lots of pictures from our adventures in Kauai on our honeymoon with you all. We were there for seven days and did tons of exploring and still didn't see or do everything we wanted. Overall we absolutely loved the island, it was beautiful, laid back and full of adventure and activities. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about it as a destination. This honeymoon recap will likely be separated into several parts, we also took lots of video footage we are hoping to edit into a recap video also, so stay tuned for more.

Day One:
On the Monday after our wedding we left for our honeymoon in the way too early hours (4:30am) of the morning and had a long day of travel ahead. We finally landed in Kauai at 12:30pm Hawaii time which was 5:30pm New Mexico time, waited for our rental car and set out to the hotel. When we arrived we were thrilled to be upgraded to a room with a killer view and were greeted with congratulatory champagne for our honeymoon.

After checking out our room and taking in the view it was time to eat and explore the hotel property. We loved the hotel we choose, the Marriot Kauai Resort. It was a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and at a much more reasonable price than some of the others we looked into. We spent the rest of the day by the pool until dinner. After dinner we were exhausted and went to bed really early because it was really 2:00am our time and we had been up for almost 24 hours.

Day Two:
When we were planning the honeymoon we knew we would be tired from all the wedding festivities and the travel out to the island so we determined that we wouldn't do much other than chill at the pool and beach for the first two days to recover. Well we pretty much did just that, but we did go out to the store on day two and on the way back decided we wanted to check out the famous Wailua falls. So cool, and do you see that rainbow, I only wish we could've gotten closer, but that comes later.
This dress is the perfect vacation dress, from Hazel and Olive Boutique, so comfortable I wore it more than once on the trip

Day Three:
On this day we were scheduled to go on the waterfall excursion, which we were most excited about but it got rained out last minute so we just randomly hit up some of the sites we wanted to see to fill our day. We started a Poipu beach, a very popular area, the beach was beautiful but super rocky and filled with people. That didnt stop us from hanging out, taking some pictures, seeing a sea lion and getting in the water.
After the beach we headed over to the nearby spouting horn and the tunnel of trees on our way back to the hotel

Stay tuned for part two coming tomorrow!
