Leopard Cardi OOTD- I Cant Adult Today

Well our long weekend getaway has officially ended, it is now Monday and I certainty don't feel like I can adult today. To bad I will have to anyway, I am currently making a 3 hour drive to the middle of no where Texas for a work meeting. However if it was optional and I could wear casual attire to my appointments then perhaps I would be wearing today's outfit.

Todays outfit features the new Leopard Cardi from Burn Boutique, one of my favorite new pieces. Todays look styles the cardigan in a very casual manner that is perfect for fall transition weather. However of course once fall hits this sweater will be perfect to wear with boots as well.

Olive Vest OOTD

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone!! I hope everyone had a great week and more importantly everyone is ready to enjoy the long weekend that is upon us! Today I am back again with a new styled post from my most recent shoot with Beckley Co. Today's look is a fall transitional one, its still hot in Texas (will be for awhile) but once September hits we all know were ready for fall.

This look was easy to look and feel like fall while staying weather appropriate for higher temps. I paired basic jeans and a black tee with the olive vest, tie up flats and an optional hat. (And OMG the vest needed to be steamed seeing those wrinkles pains me...whoops)

Patio Makeover- Decorate with Me & Video

When we first purchased our house the side courtyard patio space was in kind of rough condition. However it was a space we really loved in the house and definitely saw the potential with a little work. Fixing the fence around this area became our first "major" projects for the house. Once the new fence was up things were already looking 10x better. Next we removed all of the vines/greenery/weeds that had taken over the space, where the hubs then planted grass with the help of his dad. Once those two big items were taken care of and things were cleaned up a bit it was clear we made the right choice. This space was coming out so great and we knew it would be our hangout in the cooler months.
Before:Fence full of holes and weeds
 During: Digging up weeds
 During: Putting in Grass
However I will admit we basically finished all the work when it started to get way too hot to hang out there so that was a bummer but we are all set for to spend all of fall out there when it comes. In the spring I purchased two chairs and a table for the space that we have been using since however I thought now with cooler weather hopefully (please) coming soon it was time to really decorate the space and I thought it would be fun to take you all along with me while I do just that. Video below

What do you think of the finished product? I am a huge fan and cant wait to have some friends of neighbors over soon to relax in the space. Links of everything I used below (almost all from At Home):

Living Room Tour & Video

Since we purchased our home last year we have spent so much time on projects to make this house our home. It has been so much fun and we have loved every minute of it. There is nothing like the excitement of finishing a home project and seeing the end result and loving it. I personally have always loved home decor and decorating but we did try (and succeeded) to buy minimal decor and furniture when we lived in an apartment since we knew we wouldn't be there long term and decor/ furniture tend to be purchased specifically for a space and we didn't want to have to start over. I'm so glad we did that. Now that we own this home and plan to be here for awhile I have had the best time decorating and picking out pieces. That is why I wanted to start a home decor series for the blog along with some videos.

The thing with blogging is you do best blogging what is really going on in your life and right now this has been a big part of ours, so I have been building some content for awhile that I am so excited to share with you all.

Last week I shared our Living Room Gallery Wall project that we just completed. Our living and dining room is actually where I think we have made the most progress. We have really focused on this room because it is where we spend most of our time and also where friends and family are when they come over. We are so happy with what we have done so far, but of course its a never ending project. However I am very excited to share with you a tour of our living room in its current state! Below are both pictures and the full video tour please enjoy!

Living Room Gallery Wall

A couple weeks back we purchased a new TV stand that we had been wanting from IKEA, once we had that all set we knew the next step would be to complete a gallery type wall around it. Fun fact there are very few things hung on our walls and no pictures hanging up to this point. Over the last couple weeks we have been gathering items we wanted to incorporate into the wall including pictures, artwork, and some decor pieces.
We started this all by laying out everything we had. I then traced the outlines of each item on paper (something I once saw on Pinterest, great idea) and played with the layout with the items on the wall before getting the nails involved. A couple tries later we had our desired layout.
(In progress- yes with the Olympics on)
Then we began by placing the nails directly on top of the papers so all that layout work wasn't wasted. Now here is the end result with everything hung up, not to say we wont add more in the future but we are very happy with this start.

Some of the items we included:
TV Stand: IKEA, Morkie sign: Etsy, NM Home sign: Etsy, Marble clock: Target, Wooden Arrow: Amazon, Grey B: Michael's

Other things included are of course our pictures (frames from target, home goods and hobby lobby) and lyrics from our first dance song.

Burn Boutique 6 Months & Maxi and Denium OOTD

I can actually hardly believe my little business turned 6 months old today! It feels like last week that I turned over the website I had been working so hard to put together and been dreaming about for years from protected to live. I sat there nervous waiting to see what my friends, family and strangers thought of the site and the clothes I picked out. The first few days were a huge excitement watching it all unfold and seeing the orders roll in. The stores first couple weeks were actually a few of the best for sales to date, which is exactly what I had hoped and expected but with time we are going to beat those sales ten times over.

Since then the last six months have been a great adventure and I can not wait to see what the next six will bring us. Right now it is Fall buying season and I have never been so excited to make purchases for the store. First fall is my favorite season but Fall/Winter are also my favorite season for clothes. I have already started compiling tons of items I would like to stock for both seasons, I truly know it will be the best inventory we've held yet and I cant wait for everyone to see. However it is not making my frustration with the Texas heat any easier, knowing this state basically skips over fall and it will likely remain hot here for several more months.

Last month we attended our first vendor show, you can watch a little bit of footage here. Although it wasn't as great as we had hoped it would be it was still a big learning experience that we hope will help us in the future. We actually already have our next show on the books for October at a large local event in Rockwall and we can not wait.

Right now the store is currently having a summer clearance event to make room for that much more fall and fall transition items on the shelves. I blasted out that sale before realizing this milestone would fall right in the middle of it so I think that calls for an even bigger and better sale for today only!!

Happy 6 Months Burn Boutique, thank you for all the fun!!

Also I never posted the photos and outfit details to here for the third outfit from our shoot with Beckley photography so they will be below. You can see outfits one here and two here. So now onto number three featuring The Everyday Maxi from the store styled a little differently.
