Wedding Rehearsal

Good morning everyone!!

We just got back yesterday from our wedding and honeymoon after almost two weeks away from home! We had an incredible past couple of weeks and wonderful honeymoon. It was tough to come back for sure, but it is nice to be home, not so much back to reality but what can you do.

I have so many updates for you guys over the coming weeks. We will not get our professional wedding photos and video for quite awhile, probably 6 weeks so I will be antsy to share them when they arrive but until then I will share what I have. Starting with a quick recap of our rehearsal, unfortunately I don't think anyone took any pictures at the dinner but that's ok, the rehearsal space was prettier anyways :)

I love looking over these pictures of our rehearsal, little did we know at this point what a whirlwind the next 48 hours would be and how quickly it would all fly by.After the run through at the venue we headed to a local Mexican Restaurant, Gardunos for our rehearsal dinner with family and friends.

Wedding Week!!

I am just going to be completely honest here.... this blog is about to become all wedding posts all the time, but sorry not sorry! There is nothing more exciting than that! I am sitting here writing this post after finishing up my (hopefully) final wedding craft, while listening to wedding songs Pandora and I cant help but be giddy and hope the next three days of work pass by really really quickly.

I have started filming a few clips to hopefully do a wedding series vlog that takes place over the next few days. Depending how they come out I am really hoping to post them here for you all so you can experience the wedding week festivities. Fingers crossed!!

For now I am just worrying about trying to pack for both the wedding and honeymoon... it is going to be quite the task. SO many suitcases and so many important things to remember, I better start a list. I have started collecting the important things together but know making sure we have everything will be the most stressful part of the next few days, but it will all be worth it in the end.

Unfortunately I have been battling a terrible cough for over a week and I am just praying it goes away before the big day. I think it is allergy related so I am hoping whatever I am allergic to is not in New Mexico and that will take care of the problem.

I cant wait to keep the updates coming so stay tuned!

Kayaking White Rock Lake

Over Labor Day weekend we didn't have a lot of plans, life had been crazy and we were looking forward to the long weekend just to hang out and get some final wedding things done. So we started the weekend with a relaxing Friday night at home drinking wine, cooking and doing a few last minute wedding things.

On Saturday morning we woke up and knew we wanted to get ourselves and the dog outside for some fresh air and exercise. We decided to head to White Rock Lake in Dallas so we could walk around the lake, we also heard the new dog park was open so we figured we could stop there on our way out and let Bentley run around.

We parked at the lake right by the dog park and set out on a walk. The lake was beautiful but it was a very hot day, I would say we made it about a mile total walking with Bentley, he got really hot and it showed. So we figured it was time to hit up the dog park, if he was too tired he would let us know. Now this new dog park is one of the coolest I have ever seen, including a "launch pad" for the dogs to jump directly into the water of the lake. Perfect for the dogs on such a hot day, we took Bentley right over. He was not so sure about getting in at first but eventually got in and loved it.
While he was playing in the water we noticed across the lake was a kayak and SUP board rental place. We decided right then we would come back on Monday to kayak. We are actually taking a kayaking and hiking excursion on our honeymoon so we figured it would be good practice.
We made a reservation for Monday afternoon and convinced my sister to join us for the fun. We stayed out on the water for about an hour and a half and loved it. Such a cool experience to kayak around the lake and the river. We will definitely be going again, maybe next time we will SUP board. The coolest part about this lake is it is right in the middle of the city so easy access and great views. The area around the lake is actually where we are hoping to move we would love to be close by.

Final Countdown to Wedding Day

It has happened!! We are in the final countdown to our wedding day, 9 days out today! That is single digits people! With such a long engagement there were plenty of times it seemed like we would never get here, but this summer has flown by and we are more than ready.
Yesterday was a big day, I went in for my final fitting and everything fit and looked great so I got to take the dress home with me. That was a very real moment. After a lesson on how to bustle the dress with my sister the fitting portion of the appointment was over and I got to try on all of my accessories with the dress including the veil. This is the first time I have seen all of the pieces together in the exact color and style I wanted. I was more than thrilled with the final product and how it all came together. I was more excited than ever to put this dress back on and walk down that aisle.

This past weekend we also finished up the last of our "wedding tasks" which was incredibly exciting and freeing. It felt so good to check everything off our list and to know all the details had final come together. I was very stressed several weeks back due to my crazy schedule and thinking we would never finish everything in time but thankfully things have slowed down and we have finished everything so now I am sailing through the last few days with a great sense of calm. I can not wait to get on a plane to New Mexico in 6 short days and see all my family and friends and get the festivities started.

I have so many details I want to share with you all but I don't want to give too much away ahead of time so those posts will have to come after the big day. I may work on scheduling them out now. I feel like Evan and I have worked incredibly hard on so many of the handmade details I cant wait for everyone to see them.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!!

Trip to Hamilton Pool

Yesterday I posted my ever growing Texas bucket list, this past weekend I was able to check something off that list I had been wanting to see for some time, a visit to Hamilton Pool. Now originally the list read "swim in Hamilton Pool" however when we arrived on Saturday morning we were informed it was a no swim day and initially we pretty bummed. However once we got to the pool we determined the hike and seeing the site was plenty, also by the looks of the water I'm not sure it would've been something we would've wanted to swim in anyway. This place was one of the coolest sites I have ever seen. It is a natural swimming hole that formed in the middle of a rock structure. If you are ever in the Austin area I would definitely recommend a visit.
